It was great. Friday night we simply vegged out and watched TV. Strangely enough this was very exciting because I'm not a TV watcher really ever. So it was nice to relax in front of the TV and turn my brain off for a while. I'm definitely hoping work isn't as crazy this week and I'm not so exhausted come Friday.
Saturday was great. We had my best friend and her boyfriend over for a "End of the Summer" crab feast. I'm pretty sure they were some of the best crabs I've had all summer. Infact I'm about to finish them off for dinner too :) I'm always super careful when eating crabs now, because all that protein has thrown me into bowel obstructions in the past few years. So it's hydrate hydrate hydrate and all is well (knock on wood) :) We had a great time eating crabs, enjoying drinks, music, and just hanging out. We also made a list of fun things to do with the fall coming up, like haunted hayrides etc. So excited!
Today was a busy work day for us. We started the day off getting coffees and going to Target to get some shopping done. I even bought Scott 2 Christmas presents. A cool Transformers T-shirt, and a Marvel T-shirt. :) Afterwards we came home to chores. I had 2 weeks of laundry to do since last week we couldn't wash clothes since we had our water treatment system replaced. Then I'm proud to announce we FINISHED BUILDING OUR DECK!!!! Woo Hoo!! It was a lot of work today and it was hands on rough work and kicked my butt! Plus I decided to do a 20 minute bike ride, about 3 miles on top of that. So I'm pretty tired tonight.
I also wanted to give Scott a shout out for going back to college again. He already has a degree in computers, but he's going back to pursue a degree in Network Management. I'm so proud of him and all of his hard work and discipline!!! Here's to a great semester Mr. Smarty Pants! :)
Here's to the start of a good week. The work crew and I are now running Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's. I'm so proud of everyones effort and motivation!! Happy week everyone!

Where did the weekend go?

It sure was a busy weekend around here. Friday was a hellacious day at work in every way. By the time I got out it was late and I was exhausted. Came home and worked on the deck with Scott for a while. Beth came over for a while and gave us a hand with a few things. The end of the night was very relaxing on the back porch enjoying a glass of wine.
Saturday night we had my cousins over for a cookout. It turned out really nice all in all. Granted we worked our butts off all day so I was tired, but it was a great night. Everyone ended up staying until about 2:30 am. That's a good night for sure. I'm happy that everyone is so comfortable at our house and hours just seem to fly by. I also witness a bizarre accident on Saturday while at the grocery store. A guy in a truck towing a boat plowed through a telephone poll, then took out a row of employee cars too :/ Luckily everyone was ok, but that landed me getting trapped at the good old grocery store for a while. Good think I wasn't hungry, I may have eaten the whole store. ;)
Sunday I got up early to meet my friend at Starbucks for coffee. She leaves for Guatemala on a mission type trip to an orphanage for 10 days next week. Afterwards I had a ton of errands to run....Godson's birthday present, Hallmark, Target etc. We decided to enjoy the beautiful day by taking a break from the deck. I'm pretty sure my body screamed hooray somewhere in there. We went to dinner at our favorite Mexican place with our friends. We all leave for Myrtle Beach in a week, so we were able to discuss our vacation plans etc. It was tons of fun. After that we hit our favorite coffee house to relax and walk the historic Main St. Perfect evening indeed.
Today is back to the grind. I must say I'm lacking a bit in the sleep department but it's a good busy. One more week of work then the beach!!!! :)

Much Better
Luckily the allergy or cold thing has gotten much better. I still feel a little bit cruddy, but overall I'm grateful that I feel good. This morning I woke up with the right side of my sinuses all stuffy, and a low grade fever so that was a bummer. But then I remembered to do a sinus rinse, took some Sudafed (never remember those), and bam I feel a ton better. It doesn't appear to be an infection, so that's a great thing. I still left a message with the doctors office to call in something for me just in case since we're going away for a week. Hopefully I won't need it, but I'll feel better about the "just in case" part.
Today was a pretty lazy day I must say. I wanted to make sure I got plenty of rest and relaxed. Mission Accomplished ;) I returned some phone calls that needed to be made which made me feel better. I finally got the chance to talk to my grandmother since It's been almost 6 weeks. She's been in and out of rehabilitation for her knee replacement, and with me having the miscarriage I just didn't feel much like calling. So today I finally called her and we caught up for 1 hour and 17 minutes. It was really nice and I really needed to just talk to her. I told her all about the miscarriage which of course made me cry, but It's ok It was a huge weight lifted by telling her.
The rest of the day has been spent lounging around the house and I've been reading some cookbooks. We grilled out again tonight and it was awesome. I make jerk salmon and lime rice, yummy :) I did some research on our cruise ship that we'll be on and checked out some of the excursions too. I think we may do some kayaking, and cave hiking, pretty cool. I also discovered that they do have a running track on top deck. Woo Hoo!!!! I'll be able to go running which makes me VERY happy :) !!!!!! They have a 24 hour gym too, which is also really nice and I know we'll be hitting a lot.
Well it's back to work tomorrow, but only a 4 day week, then Bermuda here we come!!! The list of things to do pre-vacation will be growing this week I'm sure....

Another one goes by
The weekend that is. I might add that mine was G-R-E-A-T! Friday went over and visited with baby Ally and the cuzzzins ;) Hiking on Saturday with dinner in E.C. Ahh it sure was a nice one. Today I've spent the entire day cleaning and doing laundry. My hopes are that I'll have less to do this week while preparing to host Easter.
We'll see....I need to make a to-do list!

15 minutes of fame
Well it's definitely been my longest hiatus so far..so much for "daily" rambling ;) It's becoming more like, "weekly" rambling at best! Well today is my dog Hooper's birthday. Yay...he's 7! And since I don't have real kids and my pups are my kids it's a big deal :) I can't believe he's 7 though, and it does make me sad that he's getting older. Although for the many many people that know him, think he's still I giant puppy :D
We had a fun weekend, and today has been all about relaxing. Scott and I both had a pretty bad work weeks this week unfortunately. We talked about it when we got home on Friday and then agreed to put it behind us and not let it bother us this weekend. Saturday we went out with our friends to two different bars in Annapolis. We had a really great fun time, and it's been a while since we hung out like that so that was nice. We also made some new friends while out. We met 4 Australian Air Force men that are visiting MD for 2 months. We befriended them and ended up hanging out with them as a group all night. So our small group of 4 turned into a giant group of 9 :) We're hoping to meet up with them all again before they head back across the world :)
The best best best part of Saturday was the radio! Let me explain....my favorite radio station is WRNR. It's basically alternative, older 80's, Indie etc. They play "The Cure" so needless to say I love them ;) Well this weekend in honor of the Superbowl they are doing a "rock block weekend." So I went online and put in my request for my "rock block" and hoped I'd be lucky enough to have it chosen! So there I was on the computer taking care of stuff and I heard while listening to the radio...."Next up Jessica in Pasadena wants to hear a block from The Cure!" Ahhh it was so cool!!! :) So I cranked up the radio, and they played all my songs I requested. #1 "Fascination Street" #2 "Pictures of You" and #3 "Letter to Elise" It was hands down the COOLEST thing!! In between songs the DJ came on and said "Ah Jessica, a girl after my own heart with The Cure!" OMG, it was literally my 15 minutes of radio fame :) How cool is that!!?? Scott had come in from being out with a friend, and he heard it on the radio and we were cracking up! When he walked in the house The Cure was blasting and I was singing all through the house! Thanks WRNR and The Cure!
Well today is about getting things done. I've been relaxing today, while taking care of laundry, house stuff, and just "stuff" in general. The Superbowl is tonight, and It's probably the first time I don't have much desire to watch it.
This week has some busyness to it already. Going out in Baltimore tomorrow night for dinner. Tuesday I'm going to see a specialist for CF and pregnancy and am nervous. I thought it may have been this month, but no go :( I'm keeping my head up though and thinking positive! Have to get a baby shower gift for my cousin-in-law, and am going out with my friend Julie for dinner which is very much needed!
On that note....here's to a better week than last.
