What I am no longer...The Boss!

This week marks the 1 year anniversary of me saying yes to a job that I didn't truly want. It also will now mark when the new boss started and I was purely a Registered Nurse again! I am thrilled at the decision I have made and have zero regrets. I began training our new boss yesterday and we immediately had big issues on our hands. The beauty of it is, I no longer have to take it home with me, have huge worry, and feel like garbage because of my stress level. It was such a relief to drive home yesterday and think to myself that I just get to go home and be normal again :)

I'm so happy to think about the stress level decrease! I think I actually feel a tad bit lighter not carrying around such stress and burdons. (Insert sigh of relief here)

In other news I did a lot of good running this week despite some obsticles. I started on Levaquin on Thursday due to my sinuses being nothing short of insane. I feel like I have a faucet running down the back of my throat and have been waking up congested. No bueno.

Exercise wise I went to the gym this week and ran a total of 7.2 miles. My legs needed a mini break at the beginning of the week due to last weekends running. I'm hoping to get to the gym tomorrow and Monday (Memorial Day) to get some morning running in.

As I progressed in my career, there was a lot of pressure to become a manager and I always resisted. I preferred to be what we refer to as "an individual contributor"!! Totally agree who needs that stress!!

I totally understand. I am an office manager at a dental office and there are times that I just want to scream. However, if I am totally honest, I really do very little in the way of managing. Our dentist is very much "in control", so I don't have to do alot of the yucky stuff!! So thankful!!

As far as your sinuses go....my hubby had sinus surgery earlier this month after experiencing the same exact feeling of a faucet running down the back of his throat for months and months, if not years. He actually complained about his sinuses for over a year to his old CF doc. She tried oral antibiotics for him a few times, but the issues never really went away. When he switched to his new "Adult CF doc", he referred him to an ENT right away. Good thing....cause his sinuses were a mess. Anyway, he is feeling so much better now. I hope that the Levaquin works for you and dries up that faucet!!!!

Glad to hear that you are at a comfortable place in your career. Disease or not, being comfortable in your job increases the quality of your life which is what we are all striving for, isn't? Our own version utopia.

On a personal note, I always liked being a "worker bee" with occasional project management duties more anyways.

I'm with you on the sinuses. We need a way to turn those off. :-)

Peaceful things.
