Ice Skating and other weekend ponders..

Well my heart broke slightly with the Ravens losing last night. Wait, my heart broke with them giving the game away. Ahh well, there's always next season. The good part is, we still have a few weeks left of football. I love football season, and am always sad to see it go. So here's to the playoffs then the Superbowl :)

Despite my accident prone week, I managed to survive ice skating today. Granted, I've never had any problem ice skating, but given my track record this week I had the helmet and bubble wrap ready ;)

All in all it was a great weekend of friends, family, food, fun, and football. It doesn't get much better than that!

Thanks Day 21 (Get-Togethers)

Today we hosted our annual football party. Originally I had it scheduled for last month, then somehow my brain malfunctioned when I realized that I'd planned the party for the same day Scott was in a wedding! Doh! Luckily it was no biggie and easy to reschedule. Around this time of year schedules start to fill up, but we were able to fit it in and everyone had a great time!

Today my Ravens played Carolina, and I'm sure you could hear us screaming and cheering across the country! WOO HOO!!! Throwing parties, or small get togethers is one of my favorite things to do. I love love love to entertain! Making food, drinks, and preparing to have a house full of people is just awesome to me!

So we made tons of food, had great drinks, wonderful family and friends, and a wonderful day. Of course the day was even better since my Ravens won ;) And for all of these things, I am VERY thankful.

Thanks Day 7 (Lazy Sunday's)

I've been feeling slightly under the weather this weekend. It honestly just feels like exhaustion, not like I'm actually sick. My body feels super tired for some reason.

There are a few things combined that make me love my lazy Sunday's so very much. First, being day light savings time again, we get an extra hour of laziness ;) Also, it's Fall (my favorite) which means It's Football season (Go Ravens)!! All of these things make Sunday's absolutely perfect.

I'm thankful to have had the opportunity today to lay around on the couch and do absolutely nothing today. It was perfect, and something I don't do quite enough. Ahh, I still have a few more hours of lazy Sunday to enjoy...see you tomorrow :)

Soupy Saturday

Cancelled this weekends plans to stay in and feel better. Was supposed to go to a birthday party for my friends daughters 1st birthday. Then to a surpise party for 2 of my cousins tonight. Better to be smart and stay in, plus I don't want to spread this germs to anyone else. Relaxing is the name of the game this weekend.

As some of you know I love to cook. So today I thought I'd make some comfort food for the weekend. I'm feeling better overall, just sound awful. I think it's a combo of the TOBI and the cold, but probably more of the TOBI. Cooking just makes me happy and definitely made me feel better today. In all the years of cooking, experimenting, and recipes I've done, I looked back and realized I've never made Chicken Noodle Soup. So today I did just that. I made a great pot of soup from scratch and it was delicious. I was on a roll and also made 2 loaves of Pumpkin Bread from scratch. Then I did bread with home made herbed garlic butter. YUM! Nothing like eating warm comforting foods when you have a cold. It was perfect.

Tomorrow the cooking continues with Caprese Bread, Pumpkin cheesecake bars, and Pumpkin and Shrimp bisque. Tomorrow also brings FOOTBALL Sundays back! So far this relaxing weekend plan couldn't be any better. Well....I guess it could be better is this junk in my chest would go away :) If not better by Monday I'm going to call Hopkins and see what they feel safe prescribing me. Hopefully won't need antibiotics, but we'll see.

We Were Picked

We had an AWESOME time at the Ravens game!!!! We tailgated for a couple of hours, then headed in to watch the Ravens win against the Redskins 23-0! Woo Hoo! Yes, I know, it's just Pre-Season but it was great. While we were tailgating, the tailgating/event photographer (who knew there was one) chose us for a fan photo! Fun stuff! So I'm pretty sure the night couldn't have gotten anybetter. We're actually on the Ravens website, how cool is that!? Well......cool if you're a Raven's fan anyway ;)

Before the big game, was quite a busy day. I had a huge full work day with lots of patients. I managed to get all the patients done and leave on time. I wanted to make sure I got my run in before we left. I did just under a mile in 9.5 minutes. Then lifted weights when I got done the run. Boy do my legs feel it today. Oh and my voice too....there was A LOT of cheering last night!! Happy Friday everyone!

RAVENS FEVER!!!

It's so close to Football season!! Ahh can't you just feel it!!!?? I'm so excited too! That not only mean it's time for my favorite sport, but it's almost Fall, my absolute favorite time of year!! Tomorrow night we are going to the first pre-season game Ravens vs. Redskins! Woo Hoo!!!! I'm like a little kid, so excited to tailgate, then be a Raven's Maniac! I'm sure I'll have barely a voice on Friday after the game. My lungs sure do get a great workout with Football season!

Sunday Sunday

Well I'm happy to say that The RAVENS WON today!!! Woo Hoo!!! I watched most of the game with Scott while doing laundry etc. We have NFL Sunday Ticket which means he watches pretty much every game that's on Sunday the entire season. So from here on out I won't see Scott on a Sunday until after the SuperBowl. Ha ha :) And I've been sworn to make no plans that involve him on a Sunday until then either....I'll do my best ;)

We had a nice weekend, Hanna ripped through yesterday but luckily we experienced no damage, and just flickering power outages but no extensive ones. Friends of ours came over last night and we did sort of a Mexican theme shin-dig. We sat out on the back deck (which is screened in and covered and enjoyed the rainy windy weathery. We had Crock Pot taco soup, quesadillas, salsa and chips, chili cheese dip, corn bread, the works. It was a great time. We also played the "Friends" trivia game, and I'm happy to say the girl whooped their butts! Yay! Our friends ended up staying over (secondary to great partying ;) This morning we all had an awesome breakfast including breakfast burritos (from scratch) and great coffee.

It's been a beautiful day today. It always amazes me that the day after a hurricane or tropical storm passes through how gorgeous the next day is. Here's to the start of a nice week...I'm hoping my work week is better than last week too. Well here's to a lazy football Sunday (which I love). I'm going to go eat some steamed crabs for dinner...don't be jealous :) And then finish cleaning and doing laundry (I know there's no jealousy there) LOL.
